Scabbers

(6/1/08-11/5/21)

“I’ll never forget sitting at a lecture hearing the speaker talk about quality of death being just as important as quality of life. No matter how rational and objective I was coming to this decision, my heart is broken and I'll always want him back. If ever there was a pit mix to change someone’s mind on the breed - he would be it. Kinked tail and lopsided ears that went perfectly with his thinning hair.

When he was abandoned at my work at 3 months old, he lived there for a year before we brought him home. I will never forget my PJ at my side snarling and foaming at the mouth while Scaboo crawled on his belly and licked her teeth...and all I could think was this dog is about to get his tongue ripped out! Scaboo, I know your new adopted brother annoyed you constantly but to PJ, you were the annoying little brother!

He cleaned the ears and toes of all my kids as they played in their gyms. Doted on them...he loved my kids and they have loved him their whole lives. He lived with my parents when we were overseas and there was almost a custody battle every time we came back. He has an extended family in Texas where he was abandoned as a pup and then spoiled for the rest of forever. Thanks to LVC, I was able to get almost 8 more months with him. In our home, surrounded with love and chocolate...he was reunited with his big sister and best friend, PJ.

I will miss your stinky kisses, your 2am potty breaks, the obsessive toe licks and ear licks...everything. I will miss everything about you. You were my baby before my babies.”
